Technology Profile

3D DISPLAY SYSTEMS

Zecotek’s 3D2D Display technology represents a new generation of glasses-free 3D displays. As featured on the Discovery Channel's Daily Planet, it is based on the auto-stereoscopic principle, but with substantial innovative and patented improvements. Its design provides for multi-user, multi-view, freedom of movement, simultaneous 3D and 2D, high resolution (1024x768), superior image dynamic range in 2D mode, common brightness, and compatibility with existing applications. While competing displays have, for example, a 9-view system with 1940 Horizontal resolution (which actually produces only 214 Horizontal resolution for each of the 9 views), Zecotek’s 3D2D Display System maintains full 1024x768 resolution through up to 90 views. With its scalability, high resolution and unique technology, Zecotek’s 3D2D Display System has attracted interest from a variety of end users for applications in entertainment and education, computer gaming, advertising, medical imaging, medical training, security and air traffic control. The Company is presently in discussions with potential OEM’s for mass production.

IMAGING SYSTEMS (ZIS)

Zecotek has three key proprietary imaging technologies with the potential to revolutionize the US$15 billion medical diagnostics industry:

  1. Next-generation solid-state photo detectors MAPD;
  2. Patented new LFS scintillation crystals for use in the industrial and medical applications; and
  3. Integrated Detector Modules for PET/MRI scanners.

Zecotek’s LFS scintillation crystals and MAPD solid-state photo detectors offer significant cost and performance advantages over existing imaging technologies, in the fields of high energy physics and medical diagnostics. In addition the MAPD photo detectors are insensitive to magnetic fields - allowing Zecotek to effectively combine PET and MRI technologies into a single device - a dramatic medical and technological breakthrough. Zecotek and the University of Washington are developing a proprietary PET/MRI scanner with the potential to set a new standard in medical imaging.

LASER SYSTEMS (ZLS)

Zecotek’s proprietary tunable fibre laser has been successfully developed and tested for bio-instrumentation (flow cytometry, confocal microscopy).

Zecotek’s thin-film wave-guide micro-lasers are manufactured using the well established industrial MBE approach. This allows for the production of wafers made of thousands of micro lasers that stand to replace a large gamete of existing lasers.
